Senator Defends Parents' Rights in Homeschooling
U.S. Senator Ted Budd filed a legal brief asking the Supreme Court to overturn a previous court ruling. The lower court had incorrectly determined that independent home study programs are part of the public school system.
The submitted document reinforces the principle that those responsible for homeschooling do not act as agents of the State. The measure seeks to guarantee the prerogative of families to choose pedagogical materials with a religious orientation.
